Ernie Svenson / Legal

About Ernie:

Ernest Svenson spent two years working as a law clerk to a federal trial judge, and then practiced commercial litigation for the last 26 years—the last 6 years as a solo practitioner. He started his 'Ernie the Attorney' weblog in 2002, and shortly after that it was chosen by the ABA Journal as one of the top 100 law weblogs. He has started several other blogs, including PDFforLawyers.com, which is about using PDFs in the practice of law. He has two books published by the ABA, the first, "Blogging in One Hour for Lawyers," and his soon-to-be-released book: "Acrobat in One Hour for Lawyers."

Ernie lives in Louisiana, where he puts on CLE seminars about technology in law, and online webinars at the site PaperlessChase.com. He believes that the practice of law is largely an "information processing business" and his goal is to help lawyers find more efficient ways to process their information.

Ernie enjoys photography, golf and music. He likes to play his guitar for captive audiences, who quickly escape once he starts singing.

ScanSnap users say …

Upon transitioning from a PC to a MacBook Pro recently, I found my old fi-4120c wouldn’t work with the Mac so I ordered a brand new ScanSnap S1500M to go with my new laptop. Installation was a snap (pun intended). The Mac recognized the ScanSnap easily and I was up and running in no time. The S1500M recognizes every document’s characteristics automatically and adjusts for single or double sided scans, paper color and paper length. It’s just a joy to use and even superior to the 4120c’s older technology. – David, Albuquerque, NM
