And the Winner is….
(Rated: 5.00 out of 5)We would like to thank everyone who entered to win our “Everybody ScanSnap” contest. The number of submissions exceeded our expectations and the stories you shared were amazing. It is fun for us to learn how you are using the product, how it makes your life easier and what new features you would like to see incorporated in future products. Answers ranged from businesses with very practical and documented use methods to the very personal, from dealing with aging parents to planning weddings. Some of the creative ideas that entrants offered up for other features they would benefit from ranged from the very technical to the more whimsical, such as manufacturing ScanSnap in different colors.
With over a thousand entries received, it was very difficult for us to decide on our top three. We read and reread the entries many times but we’re happy to announce that we have finally come to a decision.
The 1st place prize of $3,000 goes to Nancy, who used her ScanSnap scanner to digitize her parent’s documents after they passed. She scanned 2 1/2 file cabinets of paper and wound up shredding over 400 pounds of documents.
The 2nd place prize goes to Eugenie, who runs a small farm and uses her scanner to keep track of all documentation involved in tracking the livestock for federal purposes. She uses the ScanSnap scanner to track the paper trail for breeding and lambing dates, all pasture usage, necropsy reports, sales records, and so on.
And finally, the 3rd place prize goes to Kenneth, who, for one arbitration had to print out over ten boxes of documents which filled over fifty three-inch binders. This required a freight company to transport and deliver the binders of documents to the arbitration site – Kenneth’s breaking point.
We will share the full stories of Nancy, Eugenie and Kenneth, as well as many of the other contest submissions over the next couple of weeks. We hope that by sharing these stories we will inspire you to improve your own quest for a paperless life!
