As the classic song goes, “this land is your land, this land is my land.” This implies that here in the United States, we are bound by the land that we share and as such have a common duty to care for it. Of course, things got a bit complicated when organized waste came into the picture – we accept trash as a part of our everyday lives. Luckily, recycling is far more common and encouraged than ever before; this is what we call “taking care of our land.” In this week’s infographic, we examine the composition of landfills, showing that when it comes to paper, there’s still work to be done to properly care for our land.
