How to Connect More than One Mobile Device to Your ScanSnap iX500
One of the many benefits of the ScanSnap iX500 is its mobile scanning capability. We’ve received many questions asking how people can share their ScanSnap iX500 with family members or friends in a household, each using separate mobile devices. We’ve got your answer!
The iX500 is able to connect to multiple mobile devices, as long as that device has the ScanSnap Connect application downloaded on it. As a desktop scanner, the iX500 will only work with one computer at a time. Though you are able to connect your ScanSnap iX500 multiple mobile devices, you would not be able to do so simultaneously. Only one mobile device can have the ScanSnap Connect application launched at the time of scanning and all mobile devices have to be on the same network as the ScanSnap iX500.
Here is a brief guide on how to connect more than one mobile device to your ScanSnap iX500:
2. Check the back of your ScanSnap iX500 to make sure that the “Wi-Fi” switch is “On”
3. Turn on your iX500 by opening the ADF cover. Check the Wi-Fi connectivity light.
- If the light is blue, launch the ScanSnap Connect application on your mobile device.
- If the light is orange, go to the ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and check the mobile connection.
You are now ready to start scanning wirelessly to your mobile device! Always keep your documents with you wherever you go. From the ScanSnap Connect application, you are also able to scan into other applications, such as Evernote or Dropbox.
