How can I use my ScanSnap with a legal Software as a Service tool like Rocket Matter?
If you’re running a small law office, you know how imperative it is to quickly store and locate documents. Here’s a quick overview of how you can use your ScanSnap, whether PC or Mac, in conjunction with Rocket Matter to keep your practice organized and save valuable billable time.
Rocket Matter is a web-based application that provides lawyers quick access to crucial case information, including the ability to link, store, and bill for relevant documents. Since you can access Rocket Matter through a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox, you’re able to access your ScanSnap scanned documents from any computer at anytime.
These screenshots are taken with a Mac, but can be done just as easily on a PC. First, choose Scan to Folder using the ScanSnap Quick Menu. Name the file appropriately and store in an easy location, such as “Rocket Matter Documents.”
Once you’ve saved the document, open Rocket Matter and navigate to the file you wish to work with. Click “Add Document.”
You’ll see a file upload screen. Click on the “Add File” link and select your recently scanned item.
In Rocket Matter, you can enter notes about your file or describe it with a title and tags. Tags are keywords, allowing your document to be cataloged and searched across your entire database. You can even add billable time for the file should that be appropriate.
