With the new ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M, you are able to scan long documents up to 34 inches, such as a long receipt you get from a warehouse store.
To scan a long document with your ScanSnap S1500 series, first load the document into your ScanSnap and hold the document with one hand to prevent it from falling off the ADF (for details on accepted document types, go to page 26 of the ScanSnap S1500 series Operator’s Guide). Make sure you scan one long document at a time. To enable long document scanning, hold down the blue scan button for three seconds or more until the blue light blinks and scanning begins. Also, be sure to guide the document with your hands as it feeds through the scanner.
Upon transitioning from a PC to a MacBook Pro recently, I found my old fi-4120c wouldn’t work with the Mac so I ordered a brand new ScanSnap S1500M to go with my new laptop. Installation was a snap (pun intended). The Mac recognized the ScanSnap easily and I was up and running in no time. The S1500M recognizes every document’s characteristics automatically and adjusts for single or double sided scans, paper color and paper length. It’s just a joy to use and even superior to the 4120c’s older technology. – David, Albuquerque, NM
