How to Use ScanSnap iX100 to Scan Documents Quickly

Many of us who have to travel for a living, understand the frustrations of losing important documents. Whether we have to hold onto receipts for travel expenses, business cards for valuable networking opportunities, or even sending off immediate contracts to close a deal can be difficult to manage on the road. That’s why, the wireless ScanSnap iX100 can give you piece of mind by storing all of those documents saved in one easily accessible place on your laptop or mobile device.

The ScanSnap iX100 has a dual-scanning feature that assists in quickly getting your receipts and business cards scanned – two times faster! Also, the automatic page detection and image rotation will save you time having to edit the document after you’re done scanning. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Open the bottom feeder tray on your ScanSnap iX100 to power it on
  • Once the blue light is on and the scanner is ready, load the receipt and/or business card in the feeder tray at least three inches apart
  • Press the blue ‘Scan/Stop’ button to initiate scanning
  • Once the documents are pulled through the feeder, you can immediately load the next set of small sized documents at the same time
  • If you want to stop the scan, simply press the ‘Scan/Stop’ button

When you do not have a Wi-Fi access point on the road, you can take advantage of Direct Connect mode with the iX100 and instantly scan to your mobile device. Here’s how:

  • Open the bottom feeder tray on your ScanSnap iX100 to power it on
  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi switch is enabled on the back of your scanner
  • Go to your Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone and select the ScanSnap iX100 as the Wi-Fi option
  • Make sure you have downloaded the free ScanSnap Connect application to your iPhone or Android device
  • Launch the ScanSnap Connect app and the Wi-Fi light will turn green to signal that you are connected to the iX100
  • In order to initiate the scan, you can either select the ‘Scan’ button on your smartphone or press the ‘Scan’ button on the iX100
  • Once the document is scanned, you will have the option to send the document via email, save on your mobile device, or open in a cloud application
