How can I scan to Jpeg with my ScanSnap?

Scanning documents to Jpeg with the Fujitsu ScanSnap is very easy once you understand one simple rule, first and foremost, always make sure to turn off auto color detection in the ScanSnap manger. To do this, open the ScanSnap manager by double clicking the blue “S” icon located in your system tray. Once this menu pops up, you must select “Scan button settings” and de-select the “Use Quick Menu” if this option is checked. This will open the ScanSnap manager which allows you to manage all the scanner settings. Once the manager is open, proceed to follow these simple steps:

1. Select the “Scanning” tab and then change the “Auto Color Detection” option to “Color.” This is located in the second drop down list labeled “Color mode”

2. Select “File Option”

3. Select the “File Format” drop down option and change the default to Jpeg – you are now configured to scan directly to Jpeg.

Note: If you will be frequently converting your scans to Jpeg, you may want to create a profile that will save you from the hassle of having to manually change the file format to Jpeg each time you digitize a document.
