When I place a stack of pages into the automatic document feeder of my ScanSnap in consecutive order (front to back) and press scan, the created PDF displays my pages in reverse order (back to front).  For example, page #10 displays as page #1 and vice versa.  Is there a way to keep my pages in the correct consecutive order once they are scanned to PDF? – ScanSnap User

This is easy to correct, but let me first explain why this is happening. During the initial ScanSnap installation, the operator has an opportunity to select scanning preferences, including choosing from one of two scanning orientations: “face-down” (typical of photocopiers and fax machines) or “face-up” (so that the first page in the stack is facing the operator). The operator’s selection during this process determines how the ScanSnap will automatically set the order of the images in the PDF file.  If the ScanSnap is set for “face-down” scanning but the operator loads the documents “face-up,” the order of the PDF images will be reversed.  But don’t worry; changing the setting to suit your preferred way of scanning is very easy to do.

First, access the ScanSnap Manager by double-clicking on the blue ScanSnap icon in the system tray. Go to the “Scanning” tab (you may have to select “Detail” in the lower left-hand corner first if you don’t see the tab).

From the “Scanning” tab, click on the “Options” softkey.  Check or un-check the box that says “Set the document with its face up” to your preferred method.  Press “Apply” and “OK” to save your changes.

As I mentioned, the ScanSnap records the operator’s orientation choice during the installation, so this setting may have been applied to every scanning profile in ScanSnap Manager.  The operator may need to manually change this setting in the ScanSnap Manager and Quick Menu if he/she wants to reverse the scanning order again.  If that’s the case, simply repeat these steps for each profile.
