If you’ve ever wondered if there was a feature available within ScanSnap Organizer that would allow you to password protect your scanned documents then look no further! We have a step-by-step guide on how to make that happen – check it out below:
Double click to open document
Click Security tab
Change Document open password to YES
Enter password and confirm
Dialog box appears, “The file has been modified. Save anyway?” Click Yes
Same steps would apply if they wanted to create a password on a PDF document, scanned but not necessarily in Organizer. Only works if document has not been encrypted/signed.
Go to Security tab
Securtiy Method field, change to ‘Password Security’
Password Security Window will pop up
Then check the ‘Require a password to open the document’
Enter a password
It’s as easy as that!

This was without a doubt the best technical assistance I have ever had and I’m a 66 year old engineer with an MBA. Your representative solved my problem quickly, efficiently, and with a delightful sense of humor. Almost want to call again because it was such a great experience. In addition having the S1500 Scanner for the last 3 years has been a life changer. I got rid of eight four drawer steel file cabinets and can find anything I need in a fraction of the time it used to take.
