If you’ve ever wondered if there was a feature available within ScanSnap Organizer that would allow you to password protect your scanned documents then look no further! We have a step-by-step guide on how to make that happen – check it out below:

  1. Double click to open document
  2. Click properties
  3. Click Security tab
  4. Change Document open password to YES
  5. Enter password and confirm
  6. Close document
  7. Dialog box appears, “The file has been modified.  Save anyway?”  Click Yes

Same steps would apply if they wanted to create a password on a PDF document, scanned but not necessarily in Organizer.  Only works if document has not been encrypted/signed.

  1. Open PDF
  2. Click Properties
  3. Go to Security tab
  4. Securtiy Method field, change to ‘Password Security’
  5. Password Security Window will pop up
  6. Then check the ‘Require a password to open the document’
  7. Enter a password
  8. Click OK

It’s as easy as that!
