Back to School Using the ScanSnap iX500 and iX100

Friday, September 26, 2014

Once again, the school year is upon us. As a college student, this means job interviews, office hours, spending time in class, and many lost papers along the way. My life is digital and, as a result, it is difficult to keep track of all of the paper documents that I come into contact with on a daily basis. Every school year, students always get bombarded with paper.

  • ScanSnap Squad Review: ScanSnap iX100 Wireless Mobile Scanner

    Wednesday, September 24, 2014

One of the first blog posts I wrote was about the power of the scanner option on my school’s photocopier. If you somehow collected all of the devices I have used over the years you would see that I have owned at least 6 different scanners since I started college in the 90′s. I have […]

There are many reasons for a teacher to take their classroom paperless, but what happens when someone else decides it is time for your classroom to kick your paper habit? In the best situations, the rate of technology integration in a classroom would be in the individual teacher’s control and each teacher would be allowed […]

  • National Teacher Appreciation Week: Reflections on Being a Teacher

    Wednesday, May 7, 2014

I really didn’t set out to be a teacher – it’s more like teaching called me into its ranks. I think that’s what “vocation” actually means. Even as a child in grade school, I enjoyed gaining knowledge, figuring out how things related, and then explaining that to my classmates. Helping others understand what was at first confusing has always been a delight to me.

  • New Squad Member: Sam Patterson on Using the ScanSnap iX500 as a Teacher

    Wednesday, November 13, 2013

As a teacher I have been a long-time fan of ScanSnap. When I was introduced to scanning technology in school my approach to in-class paper handouts changed. In many ways a good scanner was really what got me started on my tech integration journey. As an English teacher I struggled with piles of notebooks and […]

ScanSnap users say …

Upon transitioning from a PC to a MacBook Pro recently, I found my old fi-4120c wouldn’t work with the Mac so I ordered a brand new ScanSnap S1500M to go with my new laptop. Installation was a snap (pun intended). The Mac recognized the ScanSnap easily and I was up and running in no time. The S1500M recognizes every document’s characteristics automatically and adjusts for single or double sided scans, paper color and paper length. It’s just a joy to use and even superior to the 4120c’s older technology. – David, Albuquerque, NM
