How do I password protect my scanned files in ScanSnap Manager?

To password protect you scanned files in ScanSnap Manager do the following:
Warning: If you forget your password then there is no way for Fujitsu to help you open your PDF files.

  1. Right click on ScanSnap Manager Icon located on bottom right side of display.
  2. Select [Scan Button settings]
  3. Select [File option] tab
  4. Select [Option] button
  5. Select [Set A password for PDF file] check box
    - To set a different password per scan, clear the [use a fixed password] check box
    - To use a preset password select the [use a fixed password] check box
  6. Type in the same password in the [password] and [confirm] fields
  7. Click the [OK] button to close all the open dialog boxes
  8. Load your documents into the Scanner
  9. Press the [Scan] button on the Scanner

Note: The following characters can be used to set passwords up to 16 characters:

  • Alphanumeric characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9
  • Symbols: ! ” # $ % & ‘ ( ) * + , – . / : ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~
